Salina, Kansas

The Land Institute, founded in 1976, is a non-profit, educational research orgaization that works to develop safer methods of agriculture. Graduate students carry out experiments in agro-ecology during a 43-week internship at the Institute. An Annual Prairie Festival held Memorial Weekend each year celebrates prairie culture with workshops, nature walks, dances and lectures.
